KANGRA VALLEY

The Kangra valley in Himachal Pradesh is famous for the numerous temples of Goddesses.
The temples are JWALAMUKHI, CHINTAPURNI, VAJRESWARI, BAGALAMUKHI, and CHAMUNDA.
In November 2000, we visited all these temples and in these web pages we would like to share the experiences with all the Devi Bhakthas.

JWALAMUKHI

The temple of Jwalamukhi is in Jwalamukhi town which is about 70 kilometers from Dharamsala.
Nine Sacred Flames continuously burning are housed in the temple. MAA is in the form of a Flame or Jwala. Hence the name Jwalamukhi. This is one of the Sakthi Peethas. It is believed that the Tongue of Sathi fell at this place
